North West Anthony Henday Drive, Canada

Bilfinger Berger Project Investments (BBPI) has been awarded a contract to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the North West Anthony Henday Drive on the outskirts of Edmonton, Alberta.

The project consists of approximately 21 km of new four and six lane divided highway, from Highway 16 in the west to Manning Drive in the north east. This Greenfield project will be located entirely within a provincially designated Transportation Utility Corridor (TUC). Once completed the highway will significantly improve traffic in Edmonton’s north end and support the needs of growing commuter communities such as St. Albert and Sturgeon County. Major components of this free flow, availability-based project include eight interchanges, five flyovers and two railway crossings.

Once open to traffic BBPI will be responsible for managing the roadway over a 30-year term. During this time, Carmacks Maintenance Services Ltd. as subcontractor to BBPI will provide the operations and maintenance of the facility, while BBPI will assume responsibility for rehabilitation activities.
