With the concession for the "Golden Ears Bridge" project in the Greater Vancouver area, Bilfinger Berger Project Investments has added yet another major transportation project to its investment portfolio.
The project comprises financing, design, construction, and long-term operation and maintenance of a 1,000 meter, 6-lane bridge across the Fraser River, together with 3 km of elevated highway and 9 km of associated roads as well as municipal road upgrades, to improve traffic flows and facilitate the integration of the new crossing into the existing road network.
Upon completion, the "Golden Crossing General Partnership" concession company will, for a fixed fee paid by Government, ensure the availability of the highway during the 32 year operating period.
A consortium led by Bilfinger Berger Civil is responsible for the design and construction of the project.
