E18, Norway
A consortium under the leadership of Bilfinger Berger Project Investments (BBPI) has been awarded the concession to design, finance and construct a 38 km long section of highway E18 from Grimstad to Kristiansand. The E18 is part of the trunk road from Oslo to Kristiansand, a key element of the transport corridor between southern Norway and the Continent as well as an important connection between the two cities.
The project includes construction of approximately 80 structures, with the five largest bridge structures ranging between 130 and 400 m, and seven tunnels with a total length of 5,750 m.
After completion, the concession company will operate and maintain the highway section over a period of 25 years for a fixed fee from the Norwegian state.
